Description

"It isn't easy to explain the Weathermen," Ramon began. "I can tell you that it is not contrary to our natures, what we do. Then again, our natures are...complicated. Nothing in this place is either this or that. Everything is both. It is all dependent upon the perceptions, circumstances, and beliefs of each individual. For an example: would you say that the weather is good or is evil?" "It can be either one," Lisbet shrugged. "I see what you mean. There are degrees of weather - gentle breezes and rains, then hurricanes and monsoons." "The Weathermen are all natural forces, so we are neither this or that, we just are what we are. Nick - he is not a Weatherman. We, the Weathermen, simply answer to him because we are functions of what he is." "Which is...?" "Let me tell you a story first. It is an example of what we have done. A few years back, two older women were declared missing in upstate New York. Usually, it is not older women who turn up missing. One had no family and the other had custody of her grandchildren. Nick knew they were dead...well, because of who he is...but later on that. He had some, shall we say, inside information that connected their deaths to a gang of bikers called the Black Hearts. But this was strange too. They don't usually steal little old ladies. "Nick started staking them out at this roadhouse - a tavern - where the leader and his friends hung out. He got to know who was who and he found one of them and made friends with him - curried him. The kid was messed up - had been abused all his life and drank and did drugs, but he never did the hard ones. Nick got him straightened out more or less but Faris left the Black Hearts. They don't like that. They made him come back. To make a long story short, one night Nick is going to meet Faris and he finds him hanging from the the ceiling of a squat-house. It is like an inner-city slum where the buildings are condemned and abandoned. Drug-addicts go there to do their thing. Nick could tell Faris had shot up - or been shot up and tortured." "That's terrible!" "It was. They were terrible men under the influence of even more terrible...men." tbc..... ***** This and the next few images are a series of what Ramon is explaining to Lisbet. The next one is actually part of this narrative, but since I can only do one at a time and do them any justice.... Thank you so much for dropping by my dears and I hope you are having a fantastic week! Thanks so much for your comments, views and favs as well as your own wonderful images! Cheers, Ray

Love that story in spite of the sad tale abotu a young lad who almost made it out. The weathermen eh--wanting to know more...the render is also terrific and yet again highlights the tale--sombre browns and superb body language really make the piece.

An engrossing story and a perfect render to go along with it - this is excellent! I never realized just how multifaceted - and fun - story-telling could be. I'm hooked on it, now.. Just like I'm hooked on your story! It just keeps getting better, Ray!

So well-composed, and I like how you did the three-tier style on the character. Nice depth, the story although sad, it's remarkable.

Ah, Arthur, that's Nick not Ramon. This is Nick listening in on Faris while Nick's acting like he isn't.

Excellent, I'm hooked once again. I like the image and how Ramon is close up and serious and the world around him appears to be going about business as usual. Can't wait to hear the whole story. In reality Nick looks very casual and is not drawing any attention to himself. Woops! I see now. Ramon is blonde and for some reason I missed that. Sorry. Thanks to Roxy for clearing that up. When I saw this at DA, I was thinking, I thought Ramon was blonde and when I came back here tonight I saw Roxy's 'Duh' on me. I think I have too many characters running around in my head.
