Description
How easily the desire to defend can turn into the need to subjugate when strained through the mesh of paranoia and/or greed. Something to think about. As fascinated as I am with the technology and, honestly, the ambient tinge of power inherent with this type of tech, I feel that I need to keep reminding myself that these very much are about intimidation and extermination. We humans seem to be pretty good at that. Just thinking....
CH53 Sea Stallion: Credited to mandun free at sketchup warehouse (texturally tweaked)
Amphibious Assault ship with aircraft compliment free at Sketchup warehouse by 81armysoul...textures tweaked and numbered for LHAUSS Saipan
USS Chafee (DDG-90): also free at sketchup, and if I could read the language, I'd give 暗夜狐狸 the modeler profuse credit.

Beautifully done as always....they are innocent tools, which may be used in many ways. Not only must we always be on guard for freedom but we must also always be on guard against ourselves.

Nice scene, great treatment, and comment is food for thought. Nicely done - all of it!

Extremly good work. I love the sea state.

Really like the overall gray cast..would like to see a bit more variation in the textures to both the ship and the Helios Bill. Your making me want to start an exterior scene on my Yorktown.

Great models and scene setup. Your watereffects are top notch as always!

I have to agreee Bill. While i'm one of the first to be fascinated by military vehicles and hardware, I have to remind myself that these are not only tools of defense but are also capable of extreme distruction and misery. A very fine image with all of you usual skill :)

Very cool Bill, your water work is top notch again, and you really bring out the best in sketchup models. Some quite intricate detail in the zoom to.....

I think this is one of your best yet! Your lighting and textures are excellent and the water is some of the best I've seen. Some may not notice but the bilge water coming out the port side is an amazing touch!
debbielove
Well whoever the modeler was, full credit to him/her! Fine work there.. And you have created one very atmospheric Render with them! Well done Bill! Rob

Wow, this is damn good. Yes there are some good models in ScetchUp Warehouse. You only have to find them in the millions of models there...

Oh, WOW! I thought this was a composite with CG helecopters and photo ships and sea. Excellent work! I'll have to check out those sketchup ships and see if they will work in Poser5. Keep up the good work! :-)

Fantastic

Fantastic work! Just the right amount of haze to make it look real. "Haze grey & underway", as the saying goes! A sword is merely a tool. It's the actions of whoever wields it that are either good or evil.

Very nice, great aovercast atmo.

Neato picture!

Mind you, amphibious assualt ships make great disaster relief platforms... when they are actually seaworthy that is... Thats simply an awesome task force scene- clearly the model is gob-smackingly good for a Sketch-up "recruit" but you've done it again with the scene. The wake looks fantastic too!

This is sooooooo great. Love it.
