Description
Not quite as glamorous as the fly-boys of the era, these land bound daredevils were nevertheless the stuff of dreams, adventure, and glory for many. I'm pretty sure that this is inspired by the Salt Flats speed record attempts as well as some cool drawings by the sadly departed illustrator/ cartoonist Jean Girard aka Moebius. Here's to you Jean!
Cool era racers, Alfa Romeo by merida and alfa Romeo 8C 2300 Monza by PAV both free on sketchup warehouse.
Daredevils: Red Baron by Max Guenther sketchup warehouse and M3 with some gear by Kobamax here on Rendo.

This would be such a cool image without, but is so much enhanced by the addition of the tortoise :-) A change of vehicle but no change of pace here Bill, more great models ( Max's 'Red Baron' sure gets about :-) put to stirling service. This would make a great tin plate advert for Gasoline or Oil, another impressive piece of art....and a fave..

"So you think you're fast, guys? Didn't you ever hear about the tortoise and the hare? Or was it hair? It seems so long ago!" Love this!
