Description

*zoom please* 'Nan, I don't want you spending coin for a simple prayer,' Willam pulled at his grandmother's arm as if to turn her. 'The Lady's Blessing is no simple prayer!' She said in her quavery voice and kept on moving towards the fountain in the chapel courtyard. 'It'll keep ye safe when naught much else will.' 'Better to ask Eragor's blessing instead,' He referred to the Wood god, The Lady's mate, and god of war and bravery. 'Now listen to me,' she piped, and shook her cane at him, 'better to have the Lady of Peace and mayhap you won't get into so much trouble!' She cackled. He fell silent, aware his Grandmother was set on this path. Yesterday she'd presented him with new clothing, a fancy dress tunic and pants and a new set of sheathes for his father's old blades. Poor thing had scrimped and saved to afford them. He only hoped she wouldn't have to do without too many meals this winter. 'You need someone to take care of you while I'm gone, Nan,' he blurted suddenly, realizing how worried he was for her, 'Get married to Old Pol.' The old Miller always gave his gran an extra measure of grain when she came, and he knew he'd asked his Gram more than once to wed him after his wife had passed. 'Hah! Be like he wants an old lady like me so someone will wash his socks!' But she patted her hair. Although it had turned silver, it was still thick and long and the one vanity she had left. He sighed and fretted, but another part of him was excited to be following in his dad's footsteps, to become one of the Wondering Men who kept the borders safe from the dark lords and their creatures. When they came to the fountain he looked into the priestess's eyes. Blue piercing eyes, that had a knowing look as if she realized he did not carry much faith for the Lady's peace. Nan handed her the silver coin and Willam knelt, trying to appear pious for his Gran's sake. She said the blessing, intoning all the words properly, 'Lady of Light and Peace, watch this one's steps. As he goes to serve thee, serve him.' But then afterwards she looked at him sadly and he couldn't help wonder what that meant as he and Gram went towards the inn to meet the Rangers. ****** Thank you Margot for your beautiful Loviatar! She is stunning and made me pick up on a storyline that I'd had going in some previous renders. You can find the absolutely breathtaking Loviatar at RDNA, by MSTene. There is a lot of postwork in this scene, I hope you enjoy! I'm still finding stuff in my runtime I haven't used before including the 1 click v4 age injector at Daz. Thank you for the comments and favorites on my last.

Wonderful image and especially the perspective. Interesting story and can imagine there's a lot more. Loviatar was a Finnish goddess? if I remember correctly. Well done.

There is so much going on in this image. The cat after the bird, the peacocks the interplay with Gran and the priestess. Great POV and very original.

Stunning perspective in this rich scene... it's so full of details, and you have used Margot's new girl (and all the other characters) in such a creative way, Delaney! I love the funny detail with that cat caught in the middle of a jump... :) Vashek

I changed the old lady's hair a bit. The white was a little distracting so I toned it down.

What I like the most is the color scheme. All those shades of grey are very elegant, enhanced by the blue of the peacock and the green of the ivy. This was my first impression before I saw the beauty of the characters and the excellent posing.Of course the POV is superb as well. A very good opus,Delaney. Cheers Odile

love the art, the pov - definately one of your best. I didn't like the dark figure at first cause I couldn't figure out if it was a troll or what... then I zoomed in and figured it out, it's a knight - tebowing - I like the dark image now.

There is such wonderful detail in this one, Delaney. It really tells a story on its own, but the accompanying words really add that special magic to it. You're a wonderful writer as well as a wonderful artist. :) Beautifully, beautifully done! =D
