Description

This week the internet is seeing a movement by geeks to help save the laboratory of the greatest inventor to ever live - Nikola Tesla from becoming the site of another shopping center. Tesla was a geek's geek who loved to tinker and was ahead of his time in extraordinary ways. If Tesla's vision had been allowed to be fully developed we would all have access to free wireless electricity in our homes. Instead this was squashed because there was no way to 'meter' the usage, and thus no way to make profit from it. I would encourage you to follow the link below to The Oatmeal - a site by Michael Innman and read more about Nikola Tesla and the movement to buy the land and establish a Tesla Museum. http://theoatmeal.com/comics/tesla I think it's pretty amazing, this movement by geeks to celebrate one of the greatest geeks ever! A mix of character morphs, Miss Blue's skin from one of her character sets and nails from MSTene's Kailyn. Glowing energy orb from stock xching. Hope you all are well!

This is an amazing piece of art and a fine dedication to a true genius. He was way ahead of his time and died without ever receiving the acclaim due him for his discoveries. Awesome!!

In the future, during a dark winter, when I'll suffer from lack of light and colors, I will surely go back and recharge myself by seeing this sparkling image, Delaney... :) It's so vibrant of colors and movement... Vashek

Not only am I a computer geek, (I'm building my monster pc this time myself!), but I was a machinist as well so I am insulted at this idea to turn a great inventor's lab into a mall. The balls of some people! Nice render, btw! ;}~

Wow, what a tribute, there is just so much to say about this work. Firstly, I simply adore the way it has been framed. The metalic/plastic web gradient gives perfect support to the image. The symbolic dynamo is perfect with the strong colors and subtle encompassing radiation lines. I don't know where the color scheme comes from but it works. So much for capitalism being the saviour of the world. How many great ideas have been lost from the no profit, no go mentality?

A shopping center on the site of Tesla's lab?????? That's just WRONG!!! Indeed he was a visionary - our society never seems to learn. Had we supported visionaries like Tesla and Goddard, just imagine where we'd be now... What a beautiful and powerful work of art, Delaney - it definitely has that Delaney magic! Somewhere, Nicola is smiling...

Really beautifully done! Great tribute to one of the greates inventors there ever was, like DaVinci. Great character, colors and effects. I like the lightning ball. These days Tesla's ideas and concepts are used in so many sci-fi shows, and movies as the basis for something (The Prestige) or just odd inventions (Warehouse 13). Even on Mythbusters they tried to re-create his 'earthquake machine' to his specs and had uncanny success. The craziest thing, is that many of his ideas are still not outdated and could be explored and utilized today. If only. Excellent tribute.
