Description

------------- Tales of the Raptors – The Temple of Tiamat

In a far corner of Old Calladon, in the dark, they found a chamber of grand proportions. Unfortunately, given the massive size of such things on the second level of Old Calladon, it was not the biggest room they’d found. It paled next to Shang’s personal Temple, where they’d found the great pyramid and passed into the bowels of Hell to destroy Tiamat’s Red Concubine. However, there was something even more sinister about this place, something darker, more horrific. This was where sacrifices were offered up to the Dragon Goddess of Greed, Seduction and Deception. One of the nine great Lords of Hell, Tiamat was the gate keeper of Avernus. The plots of Princess Aura and The Nine now became clear to them. By weakening Tiamat, destroying Her minions and defiling Her temples, they were opening the gateway for The Nine to enter Hell unimpeded. Would Tiamat Herself end up on their docket before long? Too early to guess.

What they faced now, once the robes came off and the spells began to fly, were five of the Dragon Queen’s generals, draconians made from the most powerful metallic dragon eggs, Mythral and Adamant. They were each outfitted with powerful weapons and wielded horrid magics. When they were struck down, they would blast everyone nearby with the vile powers that had forged them deep in the pits of Hell, released in their last death throes.

Kami activated her staff and bathed the draconians in pure, white light, but even that was not sufficient to illuminate the deep shadows of the Temple of Tiamat. Rose charged and leapt into the fray, avoiding the Glyphs that Miri saw on the stairs. Miri readied her spells to knock down those traps, but Gwenvael and Erelae weren’t waiting for her to finish.
