In 2005 and after 31 years in the brewing industry I chose "Freedom 55" and retired early. This allowed me to follow my passion of scuba diving and travel. I moved out to Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada for 3 years and became a professional scuba instructer.  Shortly after returning from New Zealand in the fall of 2011, I have been having to deal with a couple of non diving related medical issues which has forced me to hang up the mask and fins for a spell. This should give me more time for taking pictures...lol.

"Most people can look back over the years and identify a time and place at which their lives changed significantly. Whether by accident or design, these are the moments when, because of a readiness within us and a collaboration with events occurring around us, we are forced to seriously reappraise ourselves and the conditions under which we live and to make certain choices that will affect the rest of our lives."

That's a shame about the mudslide. Cool filter effect!

by Ronoir (online now) on Jul 17, 2012 12:45:00 am [homepage] [delete] Excellent Bruce, and what a nasty experience that slide. I do not know what the F is going on at present, rain and flooding everywhere, it pretty darn scary stuff mate. Edit to original comment. I have just watched your link Bruce, I have to say that is damned scary stuff, I an no expert, but I do see a lot of logs there as opposed to trees that have fallen, a classic example here of mankind raping mother nature. This is what happens when too many trees are taken from one area, the soil breaks down, and cannot support new young trees that are planted in good faith to replace the lumber taken before, soil erosion from too harsh deforestation, what a shame!

Interesting postwork~! Thx for the link, scary footage, the people in the other boat almost didn't make it and even when out from the bank the trees kept popping out of the water near them. Idda been screaming for sure. I hope you're getting well and therapy has helped~ Sorry to have not been commenting much, just been pretty busy here with tasks I've taken on. =)

I like the effects of the filters on the horns and windshield . What a horrendous close call that couple had – a fantastic link Bruce!
