Description
02 IN the SOUND – The original painting was sold to a client in Toronto. This painting was done on a large piece of black leather using lacquers and my fine detail Iwata air brush. Much of the sky and clouds were done with a much larger air brush. I later scanned the original 8 x 10 transparency of the painting and took it into Paint Shop Pro 8 where I cleaned it up and re-detailed much of the image digitally.
The painting once again represents the area in which I live, at least the waterway leading up to Squamish which is called “Howe Sound”. When Orcas’ dive deep into the water then zoom up and leap high into the air breaking the surface, the practice is called ‘Sounding’.
This painting is of course over-exaggerated because one would never likely see this many Orcas’ above water at a given time. The bald eagle was added because we are the winter home of this majestic bird and they are expert fishers of salmon, their favourite food.
Digital copies of all my paintings can be viewed and if so desired, purchased for both Personal & Commercial purposes. All purchases are in high quality digital format and exceptionally reasonably priced. They can be viewed at http://www.artscape-dreams.com Please do drop by.
