Hi everybody,
My name is Dana Pommet and my wife’s name is Josephine. I was born in Gloucester, Massachusetts, in 1942, and except for a tour in the Navy, lived there for most of my life. I retired to Delray Beach, Florida in December 2000. We love to travel and photography goes hand and hand with that. I went digital about 5 years ago and started posting November 22, 2008. I have met so many wonderful people on RR and that makes this whole process so much more interesting than just posting photos. Thanks for all the comments and keep them coming.
Update  January 2012: After hiding and denying my mild Dyslexia, for most of my professional life, and now fighting with its advancement – I want to thank you all for putting up with my poor typing skills and spelling problems. I know that my spell checker hates me and I now depend completely on audio books rather then actually reading printed books.  Life marches on!  Â

Talking about the "Eagle", here is it. The replica that came to my country was exactly like this. Super! Few have noticed that old Neil also made a big step for photography that day, by becoming the first photographer on the moon.

Awesome. Yeah the original lunar module 'Eagle' was jettisoned from the Command Module on 21 July 1969. Impact site UNKNOWN!

An excellent and most interesting shot Dana, one that takes my mind back to those days of high risk, courage and committment! Thanks for the information too! I am listening to Maurice Andre playing Hayden on the horn and it seems so fitting.

Houston, the Eagle has landed......that's one small step for man, one giant step for mankind. I see you posted this just in time for the commemoration tomorrow of the 43rd anniversary of the first landing on our biggest satellite. My God, has it been 43 years? And we've done absolutely nothing since then when it comes to manned interplanetary travel. Let the robot rovers do the job.....and even Obama has killed that end of it. I hope Curiosity has no problems on its upcoming landing on Mars. Anyway, cool POV and detail in this pic of the Lunar Module, Dana.
