January 2013
Been at this site five years now and have seen a lot of growth - both artistically and spiritually thanks to the many good friends I have met here. I work with Poserpro2012, photoshop CS6, PSPX2, Perfect Effects 3 and Photomatrix 4. I love working in the material room and continue to find lots of growth there. I also do a lot of postwork fixing, special affects, and framing, all for which photoshop is indispensible. I love doing postwork; no image is anywhere near complete without it.
In the last year or so I've added quite a bit of photography to my gallery. I started with a Nikon Coolpix 9100 point and shoot. It gives amazing quality and its small size makes it easy to pack around and just grab some shots as they come into my vision. I still use it for sneaky people shots but now I use a Nikon D5100 DSLR for my more serious keeper work. Had I known how all consuming my passion for photography would become I should have jumped to a D600 low end pro camera. In my gallery you will see mostly storylines based upon my own visions and versions of Mesopotamian Mythology, sprinkled with some Celtic works and an occasional pinup or two and quite a few special requests. I have long been a writer, though a terrible speller, and so most of my images come with a storyline or poem. No image seems complete to me without words to accompany them.In high school I trained in both the Sciences and Fine Arts but when I went to university I had to choose one or the other and so I went with the life sciences. Art dropped out of my life for a long time... though I never gave up my interest in archeology and mythology. I wound up with a graduate degree in the life sciences with majors in physical geography, ecology and evolutionary biology. My love of nature and a deep naturalistic spirituality eventually led me to the wikkan tradition. Some five and a half years ago I discovered poser after coming across some great 3-d art on the web and after some six months of stumble bum practice I joined this site.Doing this type of art has released many visions and stories that were locked up inside my soul for many ages. It has allowed me to explore the life and times of my primal spiritual ancestor, a girl also named Roxanne, who lived in the Sumerian regions. She whispers the stories of these classic legends in my mind and I create the images to go with them.My stories are mostly written as dialogue and they tend to be rather long. So grab a coffee, a tea or better yet a beer, kick back, relax and stay a while.I hope you enjoy your stay here.Hugs and blessed beRoxy

Cool skyline (& sky). And I like the bright light reflecting off all the grids of windows - as if they were Mondrian paintings made of glass...

Beautiful and Hopeful! We have many skysrapers in Japan, but I feel American towers are more beautiful than Japanese.

FANTASTIC work! I'm not sure how I feel about rebuilding the towers on a personal level...it will be nice to have the skyline back when it's done. :)

I don't like the spill being left either...One great capture!

I'm afraid the terrorists will take the new building as a reason to attack it.

Of the same mind as Vyktohria - really not sure how I feel about rebuilding this. While the towers are a symbol of a great tragedy, they've also become an icon for what has slowly been taken away from us, intrusion, suspicion and paranoia. Anyway, it looks like a giant dalek with antennae to me. Lol. Nice image and postwork.

I see you have turned to some photography while I was gone. Done a bit of that myself lately. In any case this is a wonderful shot. Look forward to seeing your work again.

What an image! It reminds me of the immense amount of activity I'd see in a hive or an ant's nest. It has the same sort of purpose as well...building something...expanding, repairing, renewing, recovering. And you have captured it brilliantly. I love the light and dark tones in this and the overall cool colors that lend additional solidity to the nature of big, urban centers in the USA...oh, such urban centers exist in Europe and other parts of the world, but there's a difference. The United States is a young country and so we don't have as much "old stuff" here. Well, we do, but the dominant culture here isn't responsible for it and dealing with it has proved rather problematic as far too much crap is involved with facing those implications. Ah...young countries and cultural arrogance...sounds like puberty to me! Anyway, I bring this up, because of those cool, blue tones...they speak of glass and refined metal. They speak of prefabrication and architectural dreams based on starting from scratch rather than adding to an accumulated architectural tradition and largely "single" cultural history. I love the manner in which you captured that because for all of the beauty (surreal and otherwise) that you've caught and brought out of this, you've also provided a rather accurate snapshot of a place, a time, a mentality, and a dream. THIS is an important shot simply because it contains so much, and will be of immense value, years from now, when someone much younger than we will be, can look at this image and see something strange. It'll be like me seeing pictures of the Sears Tower (I refuse to call it Willis) before it was finished. It was always a part of my life, but it wasn't always here! This shot has that same sort of historical value, and an artistic vibe all its own.
