January 2013
Been at this site five years now and have seen a lot of growth - both artistically and spiritually thanks to the many good friends I have met here. I work with Poserpro2012, photoshop CS6, PSPX2, Perfect Effects 3 and Photomatrix 4. I love working in the material room and continue to find lots of growth there. I also do a lot of postwork fixing, special affects, and framing, all for which photoshop is indispensible. I love doing postwork; no image is anywhere near complete without it.
In the last year or so I've added quite a bit of photography to my gallery. I started with a Nikon Coolpix 9100 point and shoot. It gives amazing quality and its small size makes it easy to pack around and just grab some shots as they come into my vision. I still use it for sneaky people shots but now I use a Nikon D5100 DSLR for my more serious keeper work. Had I known how all consuming my passion for photography would become I should have jumped to a D600 low end pro camera. In my gallery you will see mostly storylines based upon my own visions and versions of Mesopotamian Mythology, sprinkled with some Celtic works and an occasional pinup or two and quite a few special requests. I have long been a writer, though a terrible speller, and so most of my images come with a storyline or poem. No image seems complete to me without words to accompany them.In high school I trained in both the Sciences and Fine Arts but when I went to university I had to choose one or the other and so I went with the life sciences. Art dropped out of my life for a long time... though I never gave up my interest in archeology and mythology. I wound up with a graduate degree in the life sciences with majors in physical geography, ecology and evolutionary biology. My love of nature and a deep naturalistic spirituality eventually led me to the wikkan tradition. Some five and a half years ago I discovered poser after coming across some great 3-d art on the web and after some six months of stumble bum practice I joined this site.Doing this type of art has released many visions and stories that were locked up inside my soul for many ages. It has allowed me to explore the life and times of my primal spiritual ancestor, a girl also named Roxanne, who lived in the Sumerian regions. She whispers the stories of these classic legends in my mind and I create the images to go with them.My stories are mostly written as dialogue and they tend to be rather long. So grab a coffee, a tea or better yet a beer, kick back, relax and stay a while.I hope you enjoy your stay here.Hugs and blessed beRoxy

Very beautiful image and powerful story. your narrative speaks volumes. I'm sorry to hear that your friends decided that the price was higher than they expected (be careful of what you wish for?) I am glad that you are back into the 3D realm again Peace be with you and your loves

Ahhh... Roxy, I am blessed to have such a friend. It was you who stepped in when you saw I needed a helping hand here. You, and a couple of others, ( I won't mention names) who shared your talent and gifts so that I could learn the things I needed so that I might better exhibit my visions. You know that song "all my ex's live in texas? well, all my friends live in cyberspace, in a place called Renderosity... and I like it that way. I love this picture, and I am honored by both your gift and by your friendship. Blessed Be

Roxy you did an outstanding job on this amazing dedication to your friend. As always you poured so much you're yourself into this one and I'm certain it will speak to a lot of people. So sorry about the hurt you went through recently and hope you recover soon. You're a wonderful lady and a dear friend to so many and you deserve to be happy

Oh so nice to see a Poser image from you Roxy. So sorry your good intentions where received negatively. We here at Rendo know your a passionate person and approach things with a warriors spirt. So sad it was misunderstood. I know the feeling well. I hope you put your disappointment behind you and look ahead to a brighter place. You have much to accomplish. Thank you for remembering my Birthday and the beautiful render and a trip to the dark side. I always appreciate a kitty in the image. You and I have and have had some very special kitties in our lives. Today my sweet lovable Shadey is keeping an eye on the going on in there. Looks just like him. Sending you comforting hugs. Welcome back to the 3D world but I did enjoy the photographs and sharing your travels and photographic skills with us. Hugs Liz

You haven't lost a thing while you were gone away, Roxy. Not even a couple of friends who turned out not to be worthy of a friendship such as yours. You gained much. We always 'lose' things when we go through the darkness, but as long as we come out the other side, really we've gained. This is a beautiful image and dedication. So very unmistakeably 'you'. Love the beautiful rich colors in this.

Very nice with a dreamy atmosphere I like. It is not immediately clear what the picture means and that's good because it force people to think. Perhaps it is a female Diogenes? "I am just looking for an honest man". Nevertheless it is good to have you back. No more vacations. work work work! Your experience will probably turn out to be an advantage, see it this way, you are not so innocent anymore! I also like the cat, you should always have a cat somewhere in your pictures, like that other artist, Her name eludes me just now but she is world famous, she always have a little fox somewhere in her paintings!

Hi Roxy! I'm so sorry that you received such treatment - it is sad when you are trying to help and then it gets so muddled and the ones who need the help suddenly change their mind/intent. I think some people like to complain, but they don't really want to change the circumstances. I've had a few instances of this myself in my life. Anyways, it is not fun to be in that position. hugs This is a gorgeous dedication. Seth's work is quite something, always trying something new. He is a wonderful artist. I will have to check out Liz's gallery since you admire her, it must be good! I love the detail, the lamp in her hand and her searching for him even as he thinks of her. So much emotion and beauty in this image and your trademark 'glow' about the piece. I'm very happy to see your artwork again.

It's soooo good to see your wonderful work again, Roxy! It's a real treat seeing both your art and your photography. Your talent with both is massive, my dear friend! Sorry to hear about your treatment by those you cared for. It happens often in this sad world - I've been through the same, many times.... Slow learner I guess... You are a strong lady, my friend, and you will overcome anything that comes your way.

A beautiful image. I love all the detail and props you use. Also your trademark 'soft' lighting and effects make a wonderfully illustrated narrative. I don't know what the narrative is, but there looks to be an interesting tale in here. Sorry to hear about your 'friends'. That's gotta hurt, but it does make for a strong muse, which could be part of the light out of darkness. Love your photos and history lessons, but it is great to see more Poser art.

This is amazing and so full of rich, dreamy details. I really like the mood this has, and the sense of cinematic color and real-world depth. Brilliant work. It seems that things happen in clusters and clumps. I'm going through some rather horrendous stuff as well...probably more horrendous in what it implies than what it actually is, but it's kicked my muse into overdrive (despite my inability to do anything about it right now) and it's also given me insights into patterns of behavior and all of the gritty, grotty, less-than-wonderful things that make up human beings, who are, themselves, rather splendid. Ah, but humans assume too much, and sometimes those assumptions are negative and destructive and so we get an odd sort of victim...such victims are usually the people who believe their assumptions and do the things those assumptions force them to do. They act like jerks, pricks, and other assorted vulgar things, which is ultimately a detriment only to them. I see it in the situation I'm in. I'm going through somewhat dire straights and will get through with new perspective and new insights, and a new drive to do what is necessary, which will also be the one thing that leaves a bunch of people alone, laying on the bed of nails that they've meticulously constructed for themselves. Now, as for this image: you've crystallized something marvelous and given it life. THAT is more important than anything, when the deal goes down. A particular friend of mine (more than a friend, actually) once declared that artists are mortal gods as artists create, whereas everyone else does a lot less. If you can say, at the end of the day, "I made something" then I think you've done quite a lot more than a person who simply functioned in accordance to some kind of turn-key operation and "made money" or even made a killing on Wall Street. It doesn't take much to manipulate something that's already in place, but it takes a LOT to give physicality to something that only exists (for a time) in your thoughts. Who, but a god/artist can do that?
