Description

Captured 7/21/12, early in the AM, within striding distance of my haphazard haven. Definitely worth a ZOOM. Situated adjacent to our AMC theater complex is this fast food courtyard, featuring several iron tables and chairs. I'm not sure if you can categorize them as wrought iron, but they do cast a wild and wacky playground of shadows early in the morn, 7:30 to be exact, when these pics were taken. These are so much fun to photograph that I have a lot of similar shots of the objects languishing in my older files. Incidentally, postwork involved cleaning up debris and the ugly spots left on the concrete by beverages, ketchup and mustard, among other things. Arrivederci, thankx for the look-see, and for any and all favs and noncritical comments.

Great shapes with these shadows and well worth getting out and about this early for. Excellent captures.

as I said before, I agree with andrea that each of these is worthy of its own perch. But I can't overlook the fine-ness of your montage: Not just the alternating angles (across the montage), but the repetition of that table shadow---ie, the round shadow---which looks like a photographers reflector screen. Fascinating how it changes across your montage! And wonderful to see the shadows creep across lines, ridges, even that white 'wall' (top image) that encloses a plot of land. And you weren't afraid of tilts: You gave dramatic tilts to some of the shots. (In 2 and 4, it looks like the whole scene will slide into oblivion.) Another of your studies of light, shadow, line, movement and texture. And the fact that you postworked all the stains out---well, you deserve a metal, 'cause it sounds like pains-taking work. But it gave us a singular field upon which the shadows dance. More fine shadow work---and the attendant labor---from you.
