My name is Clive, resident in Cape Town, South Africa. I am an amateur photographer who has been enjoying the medium in a more serious manner since 2003.
I took a trip to the UK armed with a Minolta Maxxum 7000 that I had inherited from my Dad.
Out of the holiday snaps, I managed to get a few that I felt were quite good, but had no idea of how I managed to get them 'right'.
Since then I have done a couple of courses in the darkroom and joined a local photographic society where I was on the committee for a while.
Hopefully I am getting it 'right' more often these days.
I have a Minolta Maxxum 7 and being tied into the lens system, the Sony A100 DSLR was my introduction to the digital world. This has recently been upgraded to the Alpha SLT-A55 and I have to admit that I have shot more digital in the last five years than film!
My daughter Kristen (Kris10) and son Sean (fotoSean) have accounts here too, in the hope that they will learn too and share my passion! Sadly they have been rather quiet of late, much like their dad...
August 2015 marks the end of my 3 years as coordinator for the Photographic section of Renderosity. What a wonderful time of my life that I thoroughly enjoyed! Thank you all for the opportunity!
Keep the smile alive,
Clive

What a wonderful piece! It says so much with so little.

This is such an elegant piece of work. I love the fact that when you have the right sort of eye, or more specifically, the willingness to actually see, you begin to notice things that cities offer you for free. This is a perfect example: it's art, it's someone's expression, and for someone like me, it's solid proof that humans live within the vicinity of this shot. I like that and as for a photograph, it's deliciously urban and elegant. This is, indeed, well seen!

There are many graffiti-sprayers out there, and some real artists. Nice shot.

Superb capture Clive. God Bless.

I must agree with Andrea, stencilled graffiti is really just tagging or artless and endless spraying requiring no more talent than a dog.

It's trash. This has been removed and stencelled back in so many places I've lost count! It / they / he/ she costs the Council a fortune.. More Graffiti which is partly why I think anything sprayed on a wall is awful.. sorry mate! Rob
