My name is Clive, resident in Cape Town, South Africa. I am an amateur photographer who has been enjoying the medium in a more serious manner since 2003.
I took a trip to the UK armed with a Minolta Maxxum 7000 that I had inherited from my Dad.
Out of the holiday snaps, I managed to get a few that I felt were quite good, but had no idea of how I managed to get them 'right'.
Since then I have done a couple of courses in the darkroom and joined a local photographic society where I was on the committee for a while.
Hopefully I am getting it 'right' more often these days.
I have a Minolta Maxxum 7 and being tied into the lens system, the Sony A100 DSLR was my introduction to the digital world. This has recently been upgraded to the Alpha SLT-A55 and I have to admit that I have shot more digital in the last five years than film!
My daughter Kristen (Kris10) and son Sean (fotoSean) have accounts here too, in the hope that they will learn too and share my passion! Sadly they have been rather quiet of late, much like their dad...
August 2015 marks the end of my 3 years as coordinator for the Photographic section of Renderosity. What a wonderful time of my life that I thoroughly enjoyed! Thank you all for the opportunity!
Keep the smile alive,
Clive

I love how you caught just a slight bit of edge distortion on this Clive, it really gives the cleanly shot image another touch of elegance.

This is super. I occasionally entertain thoughts of becoming a famous enough author to where people would photograph places where I've lived...the only thing is, none of them have this kind of character, although I did live in a gate-house of a small Czech town (Cesky Krumlov). My room was literally above the gate and as a UNESCO protected site, indoor plumbing could not be installed. Ah...that is the only place I would say that I am pleased to have lived! Anyway, enough rambling about that. This is a superb shot and I love the textures and the nice vibe this has. Brilliant work.

Ah yes! This used to be called 'The Half Moon, my Father ran it and it was the drinking hole for the pilots of No 1 Squadron and whichever OTU was based at Wittering, also Alconburys USAF pilots and ground got word of the .....after hours parties and they started drinking there as well.. Thus my love of Aircraft was born.. I grew up here from aged 5 years until 16 years! My bedroom was above the left side door.. I was totally appalled that it became a ...well this! Hell, I would have ran it, if I'd have had the chance r knew! Great shot.. Sigh! Rob
