last nite i watched the Opening ceremony of the Olympic games 2012 in London,and i must say to me it was very moving,and one of the best choreographies i have seen in ages.
not that superficial glimmery Hollywood style,neither the bombastic chinese opening in 2008,but an opening with substance.
I can say i did not see any BS erxcept i dont like Mr.bean (sorry Rowan lol,but i prefer Benny Hill)anyway-i most liked the way they depicted the history of the Kingdom,including all 4 corners,and at the end to light the flame it was youngsters who did a sign of hope lets go into the future,lets fight and prevail something like that,at least it was the way i felt.
oh yes i did not knew that Queen "Lizzy"was a parachuter lol.Grand Lady indeed a big year for her.60 years on the Throne and the second olympic games opening thats something.
may the olympic spirit live,although i am not as naive as not to know that before end of the next week we will have a couple of cheaters in the news,but hey thats the human race-lol.

Very imaginative scene here, Rene! Love your take on the Olympics! I watched them too, but guess I didn't have a good mood or something. I won't be negative. I wish them all the very best in their skills and achievements. I loved the Queen scene! I think that will go down in history as one of her most memorable moments! Great humor and delivery!

It was a classy performance for sure Doc, though I did say to my wife I would have preferred a chronoligical evolution of the inhabitants of the British isles from 4000 BC to present or a piece of British inventions ...... Let's hope the weather stays dry for the next couple of weeks too :)

I agree with your opinion on the opening... it was grand without being stupid. I also agree with your opinion on Benny Hill (funny fuc...)! As for the cheating, it's been going on forever, nothing in this world means more than Winning!!! Sad but true fact. The pressure to not just compete to the best of your ability has been pushed aside by the pressure to acquire sponsors for after the competition... Ahh, the joys of Capitalism and the pleasure of being on top of the shit heap. I like the bike in your image man... grin.

Of course everyone prefers Benny Hill, lol. He was a master on chasing the chics in his show and his sexual antics were legendary and priceless. I hear he died pretty much alone and was a much serious man in real life. I really like the way you dialed these characters bodies. It looks great and the pose is awesome. Confrontational, works great!
