Computer geek extarodinaire, I love to tinker with gadgets and tech items to get them to do what I want. I'm either logically artistic or artisically logical. I'm also rude, crude, semi-barbaric, socially unacceptable, and totally psychotic. On the bright side - I am potentially harmless. I'm currently trying to write some short stories about the fae as well as a novel on those same fae as well as two other novels. The programs I have for photo and image editing are: Photoimpact from Ulead, Adobe Photoshop 7 and Corel Paint Shop Pro 2X. Recently I've added DAZ Studios as well as Terragen, Blender and Google Sketch to my list of programs crowding my hard-drive. All this and much more on an old Pentium III 450 with 396 Megs of memory and operating Windows XP. It does get interesting at time.As of December 26, 2008, I have added Vue 7 Pioneer to my list of reason of why I'm going insane.

This is a very nice photo of her Mike, and I'm sorry about the situation. However I am so happy that you chose to adopt her out instead of having her put down like so many people do. I'll put Isabella in my prayers that you can find a good home for her

Ohhh dear. That's too bad that happened. Like Magnus I'm glad they decided to try to adopt her out. Hope your brother in law is okay and can recover fully Mike! Healing wishes for all.
netot
Diabetics sometimes smell different, like fruit, and this probably mistook her. It is a pity, but I think it's a good decision, as a diabetic is at high risk of wounds, and cats often cause scratches, even playing.
eekdog
bummer, bet it could have to so with diabetes Mike. hope that don't happen again. still love your cat.

She doesn't look mean!

Sorry to hear about the cat Mike... glad your brother in law wasn't hurt badly though. Cats have such unique personalities that it is hard to know what set him off, but I am glad they will try to adopt him out and not put him down. Pretty cat!

Im very glad they're looking for a good home for her. Like Netot said, diabetics do sometimes smell like fruit - and as odd as this is some cats have a violent aversion to fruit, especially citrus (as all are individuals obviously some dont react like this at all), but I have known many a docile cat to get a whiff of orange juice or the like and hiss. If Bella has never done anything violent like this before, its possible there was something like that behind it. At any rate, as was said, its definately safer not to have her in the house with him. I hope she finds a good home. :)

i with netot . guess the cat smell something was wrong and did not want to be around it. I happy you trying to find a new home for the cat and keep an eye on Brother in Law. My brother have it but he did what the doctors say to eat and not to eat and his eye test do not even show the sickness today. he say a course he took that cost at the time $500 saved his life. most likely the course cost more today

pretty kitty. I'm sorry she struck out like that. I'm glad she's being given the chance to find a new home, though.

Mike, you should check Bella for any sort of disease of her own. Cats will often act aggressive if in pain or are "out of sorts". Surprisingly the biggest reason is often diabetes! In Cats. Cats don't "go bad" so much as react to something that is hurting them. Sorry for the loss of such a sweet gal... :( HugZ! Ariana

Very unfortunate and strange that these things happen! Hope it works out!

Some cats can get highly strung! They did the right thing! Too bad this kitty had to turn out bad for them. It looks like one of mine and my wife's. We call him Scruffy and I have a picture of him in my gallery! Great capture!
renecyberdoc
a great bit of information (in the comments about diabetes etc)around this sad situation.
cricke49
excellent capture mike, soory she has to find a new home but glad you didn't put her down! i watch that reality show about bad cats, i think it's called 'the cat from hell"! that cat whisperer on there is pretty good!:)*5

So sad, and I hope she find a good home.

Awwww poor thing just as well it was a cat and not a dog that attacked him. My daughter has type one diabetes since she was 3 on injection..
UteBigSmile
A cat 'never' attack for not having a reason, perhaps she is in pain or it was a kind of self-defense, who knows what happen!?!
AGentleMuse
Glad she is getting adopted and not put down! Great capture!

Losing a pet is always a tough time. I am glad you made the decision for adoption. I was not given a choice with my dog. It is a day that still haunts me.
GOLDILOCKSUK
It is like she has chosen her space and didnt like anyone invading it a bit like taking a bone away from a dog I have never heard of a cat doing it though I am glad they had her adopted :) Cathy xoxoxo

Great capture Mike. I share whole heartedly in the view of the others that are glad she is finding a new home rather than being put down. Hope your brother-in-law is okay. Cat scratches can inflict infection for anyone, but is especially trouble some for some one with diabetis which causes healing to be slower.

Sorry dear.

My thoughts and prayer's are with you and all those affected by this unexpected event Mike. It is nice to hear Dan will be okay.

I just seen a piece on the news that animals have detected something about people with diabetes and they are either warning them about the sugar or scared of the sickness they feel surrounded with animals can feel this not the animals fought at all.
