Description
This is just something I felt like creating on a whim. I was riding the subway one day about a week ago and across from me a girl was listening to her iPod drumming her fingers to the rhythm, totally engrossed in the music, with a dreamy look on her face. She looked like she was in another space entirely and that space was just riding along with her. I wanted to play with that concept and that's how this image came about.
I am not entirely sure that I am done with image. So I would appreciate critique for it. As much as you can gibe me! Thank you for looking and commenting!

I have to also say I love the concept, and you pulled if off nicely! Now, if you turn her upside down, does it snow? ;) But seriously, really good job.

very very cool. This is super nice. The bench - it's green. I like it!! I was thinking at first brown is better, but I really like it just as it is. Lighting, background, grass, weeds, all spot on. I love the contrast between the girls world and the world around her. Her world is vibrant and alive. The outside world is drab and cold. Perhaps play with that a little more. Add a couple of people walking or standing, but make them drab and subdued and perhaps also have the outside world take on a cold color. For the green world, perhaps turn the cold blue stripes into a dark rust red, something warmer, but my feelings are mixed, because I like the contrast that the blues give her - it sets her apart and it is working very well. I think the light on her face is too hard, a softer look might be better. Also connect her better to the bench. She is slumped but too straight like a board, lowering her butt a little would be good. And perhaps a little more off world shadows on her from a near tree that we can't see. I think you've done this already, but more. Bright, but soft light on her with leave shadows breaking things up. And then the existing cloud lighting on the surrounding area. This is already top notch, just rambling along here as the brain cells fire -- take all the advice with a big grain of salt.

This is such a wonderful and refreshing departure from the countless pinup portraits which are a dime a dozen here on Renderosity. Absolutely stunning concept and composition with superb execution! You've inspired me to get Carrara 7 installed on my Mac and start playing with it to see what I can come up with. Thank you for sharing this!

Wonderful work.

Really nicely done -I like that she's in a pool of colour too! Only tiny things to make it perfect.. Like Phfranke I feel her posture is a tad stiff - may be tilt her hear to one side a bit - and up or down more, and lightly open her lips?; more slackness / asymmetry in the body posture, and maybe rest her wrist on her thigh while she drums her fingers. Feel the groove!
