Wonderfully balanced composition.I missed the faint echo of the bird at first glance. The drawing behind the bird reminds me of a spaceship.

I especially enjoy how you blend the realistic with the abstract ...

with all I've written, about your work, I still can't find the words to explain all the ways it moves me. This is so simple (this image), but it's a glimpse into a very complex world. The texture of the background---oranges against a dull gold hue, mixed with semi-olive tones---feels like an old "endpaper" (ie, the papers used in very old books, on the inside of the book-covers). Or like brocade silk used for backings in Oriental paintings. The patterns are subtle, but beautiful, and they 'break through' each other beautifully, like clouds. And then your two "figures"---one seems to be an upside-down version of the other: They sit like two characters in a play. You often make abstract shapes into living, organic beings. I'm not sure what these are---a cross comes to mind, but so do clouds. Or some kind of living creatures. Then, you've outlined them in a light blue, not so much "setting limits" as defining each figure's space, like fences around a house. And finally, the bird, the perfect "final touch"---flying through it all, perfectly immersed in its flight, like it flies through these environments all the time, and it finds nothing unusual about them. Hard to explain these pieces of yours, but this is wholly natural. Beautiful, mysterious and natural. (My fav's don't show up in my gallery, so I've stopped making favs. But Emilio, just know that everything you do is a fav for me. Everything. Including this mysterious beauty.)
