Description
to raise a child... An old saying but still as true as ever. If we still believed in community and pulling up our neighbors, our children wouldn't starve or have nowhere to live, no schools to attend... Life has changed so much in my life that I don't recognize it as life anymore.
why not feed the hungry instead of spending a billion dollars on this political campaign? Why give millions to gas companies instead of helping folks keep their homes?
We all know the reasons why... a better question is: When are we going to force them into doing the right things? We own the vote and their lies can not last when confronted with our votes... I did this because of a comment on one of my last pictures... who feeds the children?

A very poignant image. I can add little to what has already been said, other than to agree wholeheartedly. I've seen too much corporate greed where the bottom line over rules all else as opposed to simply making enough. Too many plant closures because bean counters say so... bugger the community and any sense of social conscience.

At some point the culmination of unemployment, high prices on food, rent, etc. and seeing the divide grow between the haves and have nots, that something will happen. That "something" could be voting out the bad politicians who lay cheek and jowl with corporate money...or a violent rebellion. It's a very scary thought...but Americans have historically rebelled against oppression many times before, and they'll do it again. One word for today's politicians that have gone rabid with their ultra-conservative, extreme religious views and concerned only with filling their bank accounts: Obscene. Wonderful picture, its sadness does reflect our times. OXOXOXO Jane

When I was growing up we lived by the motto, "Help the other fellow". If someone was hungry you could simply hand them a bag, point toward the corn-field and say, "help yourself" - but with the laws they are passing now, soon, even that will be illegal.

Really to the point and true. I hope we will wake up. In all great, but failed societies many stood by as the gradual rotting occurred.. 200+ years and counting...it isn't anywhere near a guarantee we got it right. I too will vote. Sometimes holding my nose but I will vote. I will also do all I can, with what I have.

Brilliant composition and statement, Seth. Great social angle this one. The world are teaching everyone, that our job is our life. Life and work have unfortunately nearly become one. That will provide a world full of children in misery. Because modern people care more about their job and status, than they care about their kids. In the end, it is the kids that will have to make our future world. So it might be a better idea to care more about kids, than about career.:)+5

Such true words, Seth!

True, the same question I am always. Day after day I read with horror, that again somewhere, a child dies of neglect. Although the Youth Office, the parent or parents under their guardianship ... And somewhere else to buy millionaires, who have come by dubious means to their assets, with Svarkovski stones decorated concert pianos, although they can not play piano ... Very good work and words!

I have no words to add to this stirring imagery. It is truely deplorable the amount of money spent on advertising agencies for a presidential campaign. You think if the candidates gave the money directly to people who really need it that that would not be a better way of "buying" the votes. I mean really, what am I missing in my mind that makes that such an illogical and impossible reality?

Just a really fantastic message Seth. Occasionally you just rip at the heart strings:) Wonderful render my friend!

Thought provoking words. Much needed in today's world. I work with an organization that is engaged with street kids and prostitutes children.
