Description

28 of 51-Now here's one I bet you never expected to see. For the 1962 model year I picket this "62" Nash-Custom Metroplitan Coupe for you to ponder as there are not to many of these cars around anymore at least around here but it still nice to look at one of these. I myself don't fit sitting in one of these as I'd probably get stuck in one so I just don't try it. At any rate I hope you like what you see and all comments are welcome. Have a nice day. Next- the 1963 model car.

Ha! Great!!! There is one around here and it's the only one i've ever seen. It's in two tone white and pale green and it looks absolutely superb. Over here it was called the Austin-Nash Metropolitan I think and the one i've seen is powered by a 1500cc Austin engine. Wonderful!!!

When I was a kid, the owner of the local Phillips 66 gas station(about .50 cents per gallon) owned one. What was so unique about the car was that is a 4 wheel drive. I am not sure if it was some type of conversion or a limited production model. Either way, back then I always thought how cool it would be to own a kid-sized car. Later on, I traded a hang-glider for 1961 Hillman Minx convertible that had International Scout II running gear. I had hopes and dreams as it had already had all the work done to slip a SBC into it. Times change and so do priorities, babies come along and wouldn't you know I sold the car to the scrappers for $100:( Great car! Once in a blue moon, I still see one around town. Also, one of the local tow truck operators has cut one in half(front-to-back) had all the bodywork done and has it hung on the side of their building. Now that I can post a pic of! Look for it soon!

I have never been in one also. always thought they were cute. I still would like to have an early 60's small Rambler with a huge Chevy crate engine in the bay very sharp capture

Back in the sixties, my boyfriend's brother had one of those. He kept a cooler of beer behind the back seat, LOL!

I remember these little Metroplitians, always two toned paint job. Last Saturday cleaning out my dads barn, where he had his auto body shop, we found a full set of original hubcaps for this car, still wrapped in paper. Sunday went to a local park where people show off their cars and found someone who bought them for a cool $300.
