Monday evening, August 13, 2012 When I came home I heard a few sounds from the bath room and gently opened the door. Two watties on the shelf and one on the bottom of the cage. The food from this morning almost untouched. I'm having a Hawaii pizza for dinner and decided to give them three 2 square inch small slices. The thumb nail shows scardey-rat "Beige" sniffing his "What's that" sniff. Oddly, he didn't mind the camera. Some 5 minutes later the top of each pizza slice was ALL gone! and the pizza bottom was discarded in the toilet box. So I gave each a square inch more - they're now VERY busy trying to squeeze more into almost full stomachs! (Greedy little buggers!) The interesting thing is they've never eaten, nor seen, pizza before. Junk food? Maybe, but they've never eaten SO fast, and the pieces of ham went first. These fellows are like little children. I've worked with lab rats (Wistar and Sprague-Dawley strains) but had no idea how individual these animals can be until I got these three little fellows. However, these are not lab bred, nor are they wild. Just ordinary domesticated (so-called "fancy") rats. I'm learning a lot of animal psychology from thses fellows! I promise I'll try not to post a whole lot of wattie photos, since there's so much else to post (and I'm quite behind due to work!) Cheers! Enjoy (?)
