Description
Captured 7/27/12, early AM, off a deteriorating fence within easy treading distance of my semidomesticated dwelling.
Those who don't ZOOM are missing out on the full splendor of these photos.
Congratulations to the British for putting on that fantastically fabulous closing ceremony on the Olympics last night. So creative with the light show and endless array of psychedelic costumes, props, and vehicles. Plus, who could miss the thousands of point-and-shoot cameras among the Olympic athletes and their entourage? Otherwise, I counted only one DSLR and one camcorder in that crowd.
Arrivederci, and have a nice day.

Very cool collage Harry, it looks like some of that paint has seen better days

I really like these pics. I very much enjoyed the opening ceremony, and a great deal of the events, but I didn't watch much of last night. And as for the ticker tape ...yuk!

Another terrific paint-peeling collage, and really like it in Zoom. I wonder if it would be more exciting watching paint dry or peel?

I'm in the watching paint peel camp; what a beautiful selection of the high points of this fence, Harry! Great detail in all these shots!

Splendid textures in this peeling paint. It makes for a great collage. I missed the final end to the Olympics but I will see it on replay. They were in the middle of the night for us.

Ditto Dad!

Two peeling paint collages in a row - I don't think that my heart can handle the excitement. More textures than patterns in this one but just as enjoyable!

some people would shudder that I'd jump from your beautiful park scenes to this gloriously decayed wall, but it's still made of very complex patterns, light, dark, etc. This montage moves from partially decayed to some positive abysses: the peel of #3, the grand abyss of #4, and the amazing "colonies" of #5 (I know they're nails and a philips screw) make the procession blast open as we move down it. And, zoomed, this is remarkably rich. The resins/glues of the wood behind the paint is luscious, the increasing curls of the paint---almost inviting us in, in number 3---are wonderfully captured, and the hints of the wood behind (the first two) all make this a real journey. Also, the paint itself has a wide array of 'hidden realms'. I can't comment on all your paint shots tonight, but I've loved every one, and pick this only as a 'representative', but boy is it rich. (The 1st shot is actually the closest to a tree trunk, and has real mystery in its recesses, the way trees do.) Ditto mgtcs, etc. More "if you know how to look, you'll find the Grand Canyon outside your door" photography. Splendid seeing on all counts.
