Description

The Choir of the Frari’s Basilica inspired Titian when he painted the ASSUMPTION (between 1516 and 1518). In the half-light of the choir, where the friars prayed and sang, the artist imagined the valley of human history. He placed the portrayal of the Assumption in the upward movement created by the light, the colours and the Gothic vaults. This spectacle is admired by the visitor who looks at the Presbytery from the choir.
