Description
Unpredictable and aggressive, the cape buffalo is known as one of the "big five" (a term originally used to describe the five most dangerous animals to hunt), "Black Death" or "widowmaker" in Africa. The African buffalo gores and kills over 200 people every year. Buffaloes are notorious among big game hunters as very dangerous animals, with wounded animals reported to ambush and attack pursuers. Even lions will usually leave them alone.

Like you said - The Cape Buffalo is regarded as the most dangerous of the Big Five because it is so unpredictable! Lovely pose!

impressionnant animal !! great shot !

A magnificent animal!!! The sad irony is, the stronger the animal, the higher the chase and violent towards him. It is not some kind of plush toy. It is his nature to survive.

Great capture of this magnificent creature!!

He's just doing what he has to do to survive, and he's well equipped. He can thrust those sharp horns as accurately and quickly as any swordfighter. The Cape Buffalo has that same dangerousness as the wild Boar, an animal with similar capabilities of ripping up any unsuspecting foe!

Wow an impressive animal, I would certainly be keeping my distance.

He looks like a samurai with his great horned helmet. He does give you that warning look of "one more step and you've had it". I had no idea they were that dangerous. You got a great shot, you were quite brave.
