Description
There are currently nine recognized sub-species of giraffe (Giraffa camelopardalis) across Africa. The main types of giraffes found in Kenya are the Rothschild giraffe, reticulated giraffe and maasai giraffe. The Rothschild is the rarest and is distinguished by the third horn on its forehead. the maasai is found in southern Kenya. The reticulated giraffe is the most common and is found in central and northern Kenya in places such as Samburu. Here is a very fine example of the subspecies. Sure you can see it in a zoo but the background will be radically different.

When I read Zoo, I think equal to the Horror-Zoo in Dubai. There, the giraffe is triggered above the grid ..... terrible. Because I'd rather look at your photo. She is so powerfully and magnificent. And seems she to touch the sky. Very nice

Such a gorgeous animal, and picture. Recently I saw something posted on Facebook where it showed a family that had shot a giraffe and then posed with it and they were so proud of themselves for killing the animal it made me sick, and the article also stated that they payed quite a hefty fee for that "privilege" ? very sad way to spend your money. Mark, thanks for sharing this and glad you are back.

Lovely, graceful creatures. This scene is exactly how I imagine the habitat of the giraffe. Have you been reading my mind? Great scene!!
