Description

Captured 7/1/12, mid afternoon, inbetween two of the three beautiful sections of beautiful El Dorado Park in beautiful Long Beach, California. A ZOOM is highly recommended. Looking towards the north in #1, south in #2. The towers in foto 1 are separated from the ones in foto 2 by one of the streets that divide El Dorado Park into three sections. I snapped these while standing on the sidewalk adjacent to the street. Actually, calling it a street is a euphemism, because it's more of a long racetrack, with vehicles zooming by at near warp speed. With the noise, wind and vibration generated, it can be most disconcerting when taking photographs. And, talk about slack. The overhead lines shown are most unusual because they are connected draped and sagging between the towers, rather than the straight taut wires that normally connect these magnificent giants. Cheerybye, and have a nice day.

The top shot actually looks a little like a massive piece of artwork. Cool collage.

Two fantastic shots with great depth. Here the electricity pylons look different.

Beautifully captured, Harry; having been in earthquakes where the power lines snapped because the poles swayed too far away from each other, it could be that they're giving them some slack to avoid major power outages from any kind of movement. It would be interesting to talk to someone from the electric company about how they do these things. Excellent work!

An elaborate collection of electrical wires Harry. I like the POV in the top photo - maybe because of the sag factor!

They seem to be taller than the palm trees, great shots.
