My Name is René, born 03-April-1955
i come from the Grand -Duchy of Luxembourg, and my wife UteBigSmile and me have been living in spain the last 17 years, where we discovered renderosity and the 3d world.
Due to health reasons i lost my job and i got retired early, and last year (2013)we moved back to our Home Country!
............................................
My hobbys are PC,Internet,Pc-Configurations,
reading fantasy,as well as from april of 2008 doing 3drenders. ............................................... As my father bought me only the cheapest of accessories for painting in school(he was maybe not able to afford more expensif stuff.),the other kids were laughing at me,and so i decided that: i will never do art in my life, imagine i was 8 years old. so i managed to build up a "blockade",concerning art until april of 2008. then my wife utebigsmile was behind me and she pushed me to do something instead of playing only my ego shooters and working with photographs, where i was unable to get inspired. I had a copy of poser but i did not came along with the program, then i went to a 3d forum, because i told myself ,there must be more people like me outside in the cyberspace(LOL). Finally i got an offer,Bryce 5.5 for free and Daz-Studio,i tried a week around and little by little i was able to understand the basics. so i upgraded my bryce to version 6 and i got a platinum membership on daz, a lot of freebies and cheap articles,i bought like wild, Now i do have a content of +-500gigs and i carry on . what gave me the most is this feedback from the people here, and also everything well educated, the whole way of getting along with each other, the respect etc... gives me soo much. Update:UteBigSmile is getting better and better,in health and in spirit-lol. She does wonderful graphs as well-but now she is also addicted on DazStudio.3d. And this is it for now, "God" bless you all here the link to my page: renecyberdoc4.uterene.org/

I agre with what you said.... but let's go even further - FACEBOOK is worse. I only got on it because when Johnny was alive he said he was friends with my Wife's half Sister. That was 2 and a half years ago. I rarely write my friends at FACEBOOK - BECAUSE.... say I write you, I get every single comment that is meant for you.... I avoid FACEBOOK as much as possible, but I'm still there every day. .....as far as FAVs, I didn't use to give them, but as I got into the second year of being here, I got lots of complaints by friends.... I had a change of heart and decided to FAV my friends - for one, it's a way for others to see their work, so I don't have a problem with Faving my friends. ...some people are selective in their comments, I have seen them comment in other galleries but it's been a long time since they visited me - I still like them, but I question why I bother to visit them when they don't.... last one, I get a kick out of these artist that beg for comments and they don't give any - lol ...I like the girl in the pink - the one in the orange looks like a dude - lol

I have to say I pretty much agree with these sentiments. I guess its felt the heaviest when you've had to take a little time off from Rendo and return to a mountain of images that need to be almost work like processed, commented and fav'd. Its good to see your artwork well received in the galleries, but I don't like to think people are only visiting due to obligation. And its quite awkward to see people apologising for being behind in there comment posting. I guess its in the nature of online etiquette plus the favourite artist system of email notifications perpetuates this a little. Really I don't expect to see a fav'd every time someone visits one of my images. I'd feel better seeing them fav'd when they really like it. And in turn I can learn a little from there visit.

Very cute little petunias, Rene! A fun and colorful image. I agree with your statements about the favs and comments. But all the artists I comment on I do love their work and I do comment. I don't always fav a picture. But like you say, if it is a 'wow', and I really like it, I fav it. If I am gone for awhile and come back to the galleries, I will usually go through back, missed art, but don't always comment on it. I try to just stay with current material. With that said, I heartily commend you, Rene, for taking the time and having the tact to write such a well thought out opinion. Well done!

Wonderful work :)!

Grins.

Well said Rene, and needs to be said!! At the moment I just have time to quickly browse my fav artist but not comment on them as have so much happening in real life. There is the odd one I comment on if something like this is said or there has been a death etc, as I like to keep up to date with what is happening with my friends on here.. I am enjoying all the fabulous art by them all, yours included, but would hate to think that people visit my galley just to return a comment or fav or to get a favour or comment in return.. Have a wonderful day/new week my friend!!
UteBigSmile
mininessie
that is what must be! lovely work here btw!

Super scene Rene. A different style from your sci-fi :)

I like the orange outfit but the character in pink better... I don't bother with facebook or any of those sites..Some mornings I don't feel like commenting so I don't..(gaming is still my #1 favorite) Posting your images should be fun when you have the time but unless you get paid for it why feel compelled to post every day?
velleman
Absolutely charming image, a fav from me - ONLY BECAUSE I like it :-). Western ways of life are quite often insincere - the site community behavior reflects that.. And after all, one does not have to be very serious about our game. My opinion - let people do as they like to do :-).

Wonderful fantasy scene and work Rene, excellent done and i love it.
magnus073
Nice work on this adorable image Rene. I myself haven't posted any image in nearly a year and a half and only comment and favorite images and galleries of those who have a special place in my heart
Savage_dragon
I've already commented on Ute's 'rant'. Lol. But as to facebook, I joined cause of my family, & I mean aunt, brothers & sisters that are far away. I've met my aunt, but not the others. Its how I found them. There are a ton of artists & friends of artists that ask to friend me just cause I am a friend of one, now there are over a hundred. Most I've never heard of. & they all want me to comment on their jokes, links, words! Its crazy! I'm a pretty private person to begin with. What I post is mostly for my family. I set my security to family & friends. I don't know how others find me. My profile was supposed to be private. I have, however, found the 'Ignore & Remove' buttons. ;}~

I like these girls, they're pretty and cute. I agree with you on the visiting and commenting. what a nice group of people we have here that we're afraid of hurting each other. I visit most of my friends and comment on most of their images but I don't always favorite them. please don't feel you ever need to view or comment or fave my images.
FWArt
Great render Rene. LOVE it, really do, and also love your write up, I know exactly what you mean, my thoughts exactly.
flavia49
lovely scene and posing!! beautiful characters. I think people should do what they like, at least here in RR. I look at the artists' pictures here to improve my work, my technique. Sometimes it's a pose, a texture, sometimes a POV, a light, or an object that I didn't realize would be available. There is always something to learn from others, and of course there is the PLEASURE, the pleasure of admiring beautiful pictures and reading some wonderful stories. Yet if I wait until the image opens, it costs me nothing to leave a comment. It's a courtesy, a tribute to the artwork and the artist, a tribute to those who have already commented (and comments are an integral part of the image and of this community), an incentive for newcomers, and also provide a score to those who love to be in the charts. About favorites I usually click when it's a WOW! image or writing. I never thought commenting on my pictures was mandatory. I know that many people look at and only one third of them drop a comment, but I also see that some people comments from time to time, but is following the story, that's what counts. Life is hard and time a tyrant, many don't have time to comment. There are a hundred reasons either for commenting or not, let each do what he/she thinks is best, what he/she likes best. For my part I never made the exchange, "I will comment, if you give me comments" as many here know, and I never will.

i don't mess with the facebook doc, but i try not to let things like this bother me, if a artist comments or faves that's fine with me. i just find it disturbing when you've commented on someones art for years and they never give you the tod on your works. i try to keep my faves out of enjoyment rather then a favor cause someone faved mine. and i always rate a 5, some people don't offer rates but accept them. i don't expect everyone to comment on my every works that make regular comments. and it shows, sometimes some of my best friends don't comment on all of mine, which is fine, just tells me i need to do better next time. people like to say they are sorry when they been away doc, it's called kindness. if someone is late, i still enjoy there words. happy rendering Doc.

Won't get any arguments from me, Rene. And your image makes plain your thoughts as is is not your usual road to work.

Inspired_Art
I GOTTA agree with everything Mike said. I am usually slow on the commenting, and truthfully I suck at it. But every now and then I do comment. I used to only comment and fav what I thought was really GOOD work, but then I realized, my work isn't that good either, lol. This one...I like this one..Pinky really caught my eye. I like pink and I like legs....lol. Facebook,...I am actually hating it. I got 100 or so contacts on there, and truthfully, only stay on there for two or three. There are some good art groups in there that are Poser/DS less, so that and the few contacts are the only reason I stay on there.
Faemike55
Wonderful image Rene! I really like the one in pink. the one in the background does look a bit butchy and a touch annoyed at the one in pink... please read my response to Ute's latest. I think it says everything Have a great week and I hope the furkids are doing well
DarkAngelGrafics

I agree Rene...Id LOVE to be able to comment on everyone images though, I just dont have that free time...and sadly some do get offended if I dont...thank you for this post. I dont expect any comments for my uploads, for one they are not THAT great and two If people cant, then they cant lol I post for the enjoyment I comment for the enjoyment.

you have a magical way to create beautiful scenes!!!!!!!!
