UPDATED: September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Very nice phot of the Dam. For some reason I keep thinking about My Fair Lady and Professor Higgins saying "Damn, Damn, Damn" before he went into a song.

A beautiful capture of this great view. We have a lot of hydro power too and I love having the lakes.

I have seen quite a few documentaries now, especially the way they have been designed and built by engineers - but always surprised how different each and everyone of them has been structured - love it the way they are completely surrounded by such beautiful pine-trees ... and with a cool POV to boot ;) BB (BTW Richard Hammond from the 'Top Gear' show, explains it so amazingly easy, for everyone to understand - how it was done! ;)

It's been a long time since I've been there. Thanks. Great shot.

I hope you'll post a picture of the other side ... one from the dock ... it's such an amazing comparison! Beautiful photograph, hon. :*

Beautiful Bill. I've always been fascinated by dams. You and Tara must have had a great time.

Nice photo! I'm guessing the color has a lot to do with limestone silt being washed into the lake.

A really fantastic view and capture, Bill.

I have been there many times it is a truly beautiful region. The dam and Ross Lake are at the very western borders of The North Cascades National Park. Some of my most liked mountains are on the eastern borders of the park. Liberty Bell is a great mountain for taking pic's. Hope you got some of the whole region.

why is it, Dam's in the U.S look so beautiful, stunning even whereas, in the UK they tend to look bloody awful! Then flood 1,000's of acres of farmland which the Government THEN complains they have not got enough room to grow food for the population of foreign people that should not be here, and then chop down another forest to make room for a wheat field or two! There! I think thats it lol This shot on the other hand is stunning and you'd barely notice it was there! Rob
