My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

This is absolutely beautiful, Tara! I love the contrasting verticals and horizontals, and the bright greens of the sprout just make this image! Another superb photo!

Beautiful image and sentiment. I've been slowly trying to regain my footing after my illness and this really helps. So there, you got two Marks for the price of one.

This is a stunning piece of work and I love the poem with it! A Tara-original I am guessing! Great shadow, color, and light and such a wonderful mood. I've been dipping quite a lot into the worlds of Ursula K. LeGuin and this reminds me of something I'd expect to see in Roke or one of the other intriguing places in Eartsea. Brilliant work and a great, incredibly perfect dedication also!

I can at last comment on this more fully. The haiku is finely done, suggesting high and rare air and natural happenings well out of normal sight. You use strong punching sounds in the middle line, suggesting a whipping wind and craggy surrounding. And your message is beautifully done. It's fitting for this spring and summer (for me) and I appreciate your thought and art in capturing that. The image is splendid, and, like a number of your images of late, filled with sensuous swirls and curves, as well as strong contrasts---the former in the beautiful swerves of the tree, the latter in the gentle leaves and that perpendicular swath of rock (or wall, or whatever it is, on the right). And lots of softened, deep shade. You seem to be doing more and more of this 'inward' type of capture this summer, with very rich tones and shadow. It's beautiful. A beautiful upload in word and image, and I greatly appreciate it. (If you'd dropped me a note, I'd have gotten to it a lot sooner! Just know my absence was because of that, and not because I didn't like it or anything like that. Unfortunately, when I found it, I could barely write, thus all the false attempts. But it's beautiful, and fits my year not only in theme, but gives softness and beauty to it as well.) Many thanks, Tara. A beautiful piece, and I really appreciate it.
