Description

The Veil Nebula is a colorful expanding cloud from an exploding star that is known technically as NGC 6960, but less formally known as the "Witch's Broom Nebula". This supernova remnant lies about 1400 light-years away towards the constellation of Cygnus. The bright blue star 52 Cygnus is visible to the eye at night but is unrelated to the ancient supernova. I took this photo last night. It is (40) one minute exposures. The clouds started rolling in around 11:00 and I had to stop shooting. It needs a lot more processing in photoshop.
