Hi everybody,
My name is Dana Pommet and my wife’s name is Josephine. I was born in Gloucester, Massachusetts, in 1942, and except for a tour in the Navy, lived there for most of my life. I retired to Delray Beach, Florida in December 2000. We love to travel and photography goes hand and hand with that. I went digital about 5 years ago and started posting November 22, 2008. I have met so many wonderful people on RR and that makes this whole process so much more interesting than just posting photos. Thanks for all the comments and keep them coming.
Update  January 2012: After hiding and denying my mild Dyslexia, for most of my professional life, and now fighting with its advancement – I want to thank you all for putting up with my poor typing skills and spelling problems. I know that my spell checker hates me and I now depend completely on audio books rather then actually reading printed books.  Life marches on!  ÂÂ

Rodin was the sculptor who had the greatest influence on my 'work'. My favorite is The Burghers of Calais.

Excellent shot Dana, reminds me of a warm sunny day at Hatfield House walking around with a very young grandson who was proudly using my first digital camera, I was sitting on a stone bench in this very pose waiting for him to finish when he clicked me.

Cool POV and quasi silhouetting in this picture of the world renowned Thinker, Dana. I like the columned background and information also. Actually, the statue is how I look when trying to decide on which photo I'm going to post on Renderosity for that day.

What an iconic piece of work this is! I love the idea that there can be a quasi-original, perched on this side of the Atlantic Ocean! Whenever I see this, I never get the idea that the Thinker in question is dealing with some herculanean inner struggle. Ah, and--after reading your write-up--I can see this as a poet as well. Funny, I actually think that "The Poet" fits this sculpture as much as it's recognized name. Both fit! This is a great shot and I love the hints of classical architecture in the background.
