Description

We met an older gentleman this morning. Three years ago, he had been riding an 850 pound (386 kg) motorcycle and he had decided that it was too much weight for him to handle. The resulting solution is the homemade CycleCar in this photo. He used a 1984 Pontiac Fiero, automatic transition with the four-cylinder engine in the rear. The seat is centered on the frame and that is the radiator cooling system sitting next to the driver. The only negative things I could see was that the gas tank is located where the rear window would be and it is a single rider vehicle because of the placement of the radiator. The radiator eliminates the potential of a passenger sitting behind the driver. The engine takes up the entire trunk (boot to our English friends) so there is really no storage space. Fiero means proud in Italian and wild, fierce or ferocious in Spanish and was originally designed a two-seat sports car. This combination was much quieter than a large Harley. I added the rear view so you could see the placement of the gas tank in the rear window. Thanks for stopping by, taking a look and for all your previous favs and comments. They are very much appreciated. Dana

Yeah I totally agree: the placement of the petrol tank and radiator does let it down a bit. But still, what a great contraption!

OMG, that's just totally insane:) I Love it! Again pity about the lack of ability to carry passengers but hey, what a wonderfully individualistic vehicle! Brilliant my friend , just brilliant!

Great shots of the remarkable innovation, Dana, plus the interesting text on its creation and overall features. The gentleman is most resourceful. Instead of doing what he did, I would just purchase a much smaller car.

A very imaginative vehicle to drive and I guess it would be safer to drive now that he is older as it would be more easily seen. Very cute and thank you for the two views of it.
