Just a quickie today. Rather busy this week with a couple of rush jobs and I'm also running round this district, firstly putting envelopes through doors, and then collecting them - (money contributions) on behalf of the Salvation Army here. It takes a while - several evenings in fact - as it's no good calling on people till the evening when they get back from work; and then you've only got till it gets dark (about half past eight) as people aren't keen on opening their doors when it's dark. It's the way the world's gone; twenty years ago, when I started collecting, people were quite happy to answer the door late on. The world has grown rather suspicious, I'm afraid.
