Description
This is a Jersey Tiger Moth (Euplagia quadripunctaria) which was resting on my greenhouse yesterday. They are as large as a Red Admiral and fly like a butterfly, often mistaken for one. When the wings are open the rear ones display a vivid orange. I have never seen this species before. They fly by day or night, I hope you like!
