Description
Captured 9/1/12, in 16:9 aspect ratio, very early morning, on what is known as Imperial Highway, in my quasi fair city.
No, not the pillars of the Philistine Dagon Temple that Samson pushed and/or pulled apart, causing death to all in attendance, including Delilah. These are earthquake reinforced pillars that support a railway overpass above the highway, which is always busy with traffic during the business week. I've walked under the overpass countless times.
Foto number one snapped looking northwest, number two looking northeast. Similar shots of this scene may have been posted before. Nonetheless, it's worth a second look.
A ZOOM reveals interesting detail.
Arrivederci, and have a nice day.

Sensational capture Harry, and I very much enjoyed your thoughts on these pillars. Your comparison with them to the pillars of the Philistines gave me a huge smile :)

Well, I spent many of my very early years in a school that resides on the Los Angeles end of Imperial Highway. It looks a lot cleaner down at your end, I must say! Those pillars are impressive, I like how the spiral pattern of the concrete makes them look like giant screws. Someone should paint them with red and white stripes for a lark. Very excellent shots here, Harry!

The spirals around the pillars as well as the weathering mineral deposits show its age, cool POV. I assume the white rectangular patches covering up graffiti , nice capture.

Interesting look at these massive supports. You don't really see them when in a car. I like the second shot overall, especially because there are no cars in the shot and gives a clean look....however in the top shot, the cars give you a good look at the size.

an interesting collage Harry but the mineral stains bother me. a lot of water dripped through there over the years!
