Description
My next few posts will be of photos I took at the Oakland Zoo a couple of weeks ago. I would consider the Oakland Zoo to be one of the more ethical & progressive zoos - most of the animals have relatively large areas to roam in, they have rescued many animals from much worse conditions & they have a reputation for treating their animals very well.
This is a Lar Gibbon, which is a native of various Asian countries. They are threatened in the wild by loss of their forest habitat through human encroachment...
