Description

This was taken and the Michigan Renaissance Festival on Sunday the 2nd, and I have to apologize for the poor quality but wanted to share it anyway. It's one of those serendipity moments you catch without even realizing at the time. I was at the daily costume contest (sitting it out, as I'd won the contest the day before, see my previous post for that costume if you like, and wanted to give other people their time to shine) for the festival, and thought I was just snapping a quick shot of all 20 standing there hoping we the audience would pick them as the winner. What I didn't realize was that I happened to catch this cute moment of a little dog attempt to acquaint itself with the "creature" sitting upon the lovely lady's shoulder, not realizing it was merely a puppet and not an actual miniature griffin! I only discovered that detail when I was sifting through the pictures today, so I just had to snip it out and put that part front and center. Who can resist cute dogs greeting puppets? I hope everyone has had a good weekend, and as always thanks for taking a look and/or any comments you wish to leave.

This is priceless, and knowing dogs as I do, I can tell exactly what part of the puppet's anatomy is being sniffed. Olfactory language is something that dogs understand, and they're able to derive more information than is necessary from smells associated with some of the rudest body parts. Amazing how that works! This is a priceless shot! I love the liveliness of it.

I remember your costume, and I'm not surprised you won a contest with it. Congratulations! I know that was a lot of work, and it turned out great! :) It's nice to see this picture, not only because it's loads of fun, but because we were just talking about you a couple days ago. We have a few rocks to move around in our yard and ... well ... somehow your name came up. :P Sounds like you had a good festival!

Yes, congratulations on your win. This is a wonderful and funny capture! I especially enjoy it because I have a little JRT and she would probably do the same thing. Heh!
