Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!Â
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper! Â
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

HaHa...Lovely. I prefer this one - the earlier one looks just as if they had been told to "stay".

I didn't realize that Hetty has been gone almost two years. It is a wonderful group portrait. With your skills I would think you could swap Rosie for Hetty in the older picture. This one is excellent but Rosie looks a bit anxious.

What about squeaking a squeaky toy at the last second before you snap the shot!

A great shot with the new kid on the block! They look really chilled out.

Wonderful shot of the fur kids here they look so content.

Nice group shot.

This is a great shot Andrea. I know they don't look as intentive as that beautiful shot from 2 years ago, but this one has its own attractiveness in its candid look.

Lovely capture and shot. Well done

No one is paying attention to the camera...lol Cute shot. Aloha

The expression of shock and horror on Buster and Rosie's face is priceless.

Shock and horror--LOL! An assistant might help, especially if he/she were holding some treats. I like this as it is, though!

Superb!!!! 5+!!!

It's a lovely shot of your furry family, but I agree ... more shots are necessary to get the poster look you're going for! They look like they've been having a discussion on how to best portray the word "ennui." LOL!

This is a great shot everybody's looking at the camera what more do you want, possibly a smile they do look a bit worried, perhaps you should tell them that you can't sell pets on Ebay.

I will go with this one Andrea. Stunning capture. God Bless.

Another great family group!
goodoleboy
Capital composition of the canines, ensconced in the lap of luxury. And, apparently complete ennui among the pups, as a result of countless foto sessions.

Awesome candid shot Andrea. All of them look less interested in the camera than a herd of cows!! But knowing you,You won't give up until you are completely satisfied. Aw guessing your great- granddaughter is probably going through a shy phase of some sort right now. She is fairly new to this ole world and not quite sure of all the people around her yet. Hopefully she will be happy to see Grandma and roll out the welcome mat real soon.
danapommet
that was a super shot Andrea but it wasn't easy to see Hetty. this one is 3/4 complete - it looks like Fritz just came back from a long walk and wasn't in the mood for a photo shoot.
jocko500
yes this will be a good poster for your dogs.

OH How adorable they all are. They feel so familiar after all the wonderful photos we have see. I will never tire seeing them. I love your dogs Andrea.

They are quite a team, Andrea! I love all the expressions. Clive

they look quite content... great group of models!

'The 4 Musketeers' - but a very cuddly bunch, some are looking a bit apprehensive and the others are saying, what's all the fuss? same old-same old! BB

I just love seeing shots of the pups .. solo portraits, family portraits, snapshots .. they are just so fun, and you have such an uncanny ability to get them at their best!
