Description

It's been a long time since I rendered anything. But after upgrading my computer, I decided to give it a go and see how rusty I was after several years without touching a 3D program. The answer was: Very rusty So, I had a go at what seemed like a pretty simple idea: a soccer ball on grass. Unfortunately I can't stand sport, so had no idea of the actual geometry of a soccer ball (other than "it was that round black & white ball thing"). The ball was so much more complex that I thought, but I got it modelled and textured, added particle grass, markings on the field (I had to look it up and no idea if they are to scale), and added faked HDR speculars and faked IBL lighting. Here is the result. Rendered in Imagine for Windows 2.0 Not bad for a first serious attempt at rendering anything after so many years
