Description
Captured 9/3/12, early in the morning, within trekking distance of my hackneyed haven.
I found these beauties in a flower bed comprised of a variety of this species, just some of the few blooms that have survived the oppressive heat of this never ending summer. They seem to be in rather decent shape, although the one in the middle photo appears to be past its prime.
A ZOOM would be cool, as usual. Perhaps it would be better if ZOOM was the default, so I wouldn't have to keep repeating myself to do it.

Vivid indeed, and excellent captures all, Harry; isn't it amazing what can grow in an endless summer? The gardener must be diligent about watering, I guess. I'll bet it's a lovely garden!
