Ultra Fractal 5.04: layers used - Lots (you can probably work out a close approximation). I was diverted from trying this by working on the previous uploaded image but decided it would be a good exercise to make a new attempt. Vasarely was a master at optical art and I too have humble leanings that way so there was an inevitability about this or a similar exercise. This image differs from Vasarely's in a number of ways. He uses four colours in the V construct rather than my six. He also used a graduated background with a warmish tone and this probably forced his more restricted colouring method. You may notice I've broken the colours into three groups of two, and each pair mostly relies on colour coplementaries to control the distinction between the hues. The two Yellow V's also have an importance (Vasarely doesn't use yellow). Also my greater range of colouring meant anything but a neutral background would cause problems and the black/dark grey combination was preferred to any use of White (white, despite its neutrality, tends to quieten the colour contrasts of anything nearby). As to the actual "V" design, mine differs slightly from his, but I compensated with the background diagonal which mimics one of the angles. Cliff.
