Description
The next day we began the long journey back to Nairobi. As we exited the park we passed a Masai man dressed in red and carrying a spear. Lisa, our buxom New Yorker, was standing at the back of the Ark and could not resist taking his picture. Sam saw her in his rear view mirror and yelled at her to put the camera away but it was too late. The Masai had seen her and began chasing the truck. Sam sped up as the man threw his spear at us.
Some 20 million years ago, the tertiary plates that make up the eastern part of Africa began to tear apart. The Somali Plate began moving east and north towards Saudi Arabia and away from the Nubian Plate to the west creating a jagged rift, thousands of miles long, across the African continent. On either side of this rift great volcanic mountains, such as Mount Kilimanjaro, were created while the valley floor gradually sank into a low flat plain. Dubbed the Great Rift Valley (Kubwa Ufa Bonde in Swahili) by the Scottish explorer John Walter Gregory, it divides Kenya down the length of the country separating east from west.

Well, this time you beat me to it - with a fine view, like this ... I am also glad that Sam helped a damsel in distress, were there any spear markings on the Ark? those natives are good runners, as we know from the last Olympics ;) BB
