Description
We stopped for lunch by the side of the road at a place that looked like a picnic area. There were wooden benches and a table built into the ground. The arrangement was curious. I asked Sam what this was and he had no answer. As usual I wandered around looking for picture taking opportunities. And then I saw something carved into the side of a tree located behind the table.
The local people, poor herdsmen, having no money for a church, had gathered bits of wood and built their own open air sanctuary in the shade of the trees.
Faith will find a way.
By late afternoon we had reached Nairobi and it was time to say our goodbyes. I caught a matatu and arrived at Mrs. Roche's just in time for an enormous Christmas dinner complete with wine, whiskey and a little marihuana for dessert.

I looked it up, and AIC stands for Africa Inland Church, which is one of the largest denominations in Kenya. So interesting!

Most interesting! So funny about your dessert. Luckily for me it has always upset my stomach, saving me loads of cash.

If you must have a church it seems like the most appropriate spot and the most appropriate of furnishings. Wonderful spot and nice shot.

You are an ol' Hippy at heart, bless you ;) ;) BB BTW we have an outdoor church, under palms near Myall Lakes - called: 'Green Cathedral' (East Coast of OZ)
