Description
because of the current heat wave and several of my favorite football teams losing yesterday.
Handsome trio of birds here, captured back on 2/26/10, early morn, in the back of a dairy store a couple of miles from home. They thought I was there to feed them, so they came up close to the fence only to walk off disappointed.
As for the intolerable warmth, it was an official 105 Fahrenheit/40.5-degrees Celsius downtown yesterday, and a sizzling 113.2F/45.1 C in my patio. Quite a discrepancy between the two.
But today it did cool off considerably with a top of 84F downtown and a frosty temp of 99.9F in my patio. Where's my sweater? And I really don't live that far from the ocean.

For some reason I just don't expect to see chickens in your part of the world any more! I know when I was a kid there were many farms around that area, but they quickly disappeared as housing developments moved in. What lovely fowl these are, even if you are feeling a bit foul, Harry!
