This photo reminds me of my childhood. "When are you going to Rake those leaves"? Nice shadows here.

Like Bach, you keep capturing pieces about form, line, relation, composition, etc. Over and over, peering into the molecules of sight. This is another example: simple leaves sitting on a sidewalk, making a counterpoint of light, shadow, stark contrasts, broad leaf surfaces contrasted with the gritty pock-marks and grain of the sidewalk; along with that early light you have communed with so long; and the sense of confluence---ie, of many things coming together in one shot. (The leaves seem to be gathered like friends outside a home...) Real contrast to your other leaf shots---where you shoot one or two leaves at the most. Finding the picture in both extremes... The overall is a spread of rhythms, with lots of yellows, greens, and those early morning bleached sun-hues. Honestly, there just aren't other galleries here that explore these themes so often and so well. No one comes close. And I must say, you're opening my eye to so many things I haven't photographed yet; partly because the more picturesque parts of my neighborhood make too-easy shooting (the picture is already 'made' for you before you arrive, a terrible trap for a photographer), and partly because I'm not rooted enough in photography to find so much life in these things. With all the other subjects you capture, your 'things of every day' constantly teach me that the picture is everywhere, because it's the eye that makes it happen. I think it takes commitment and courage to constantly seek these shots and then reveal such life in them. After 3 years, I'm only beginning to tackle these topics, whereas you've been doing them with utter ease for some time. Simple and beautiful work.
