My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

Unexpected indeed! Those phlox in particular. I should like parts of my garden to look like this.

Oh, I just love this unexpected glimpse of Chicago shaggies! That's what I call this particular breed of grass. I think it's just you good-old-every-day Prairie Grass, despite the fact that there isn't just one species of that stuff...but at one time, it grew everywhere in these parts, even in the swampy areas. I like the focus of this shot, and the softness. There's a sense of wind in this as well as a lively dance of color! Quite nice!

Sweet shot and the slightly blurred look gives it a wonderful effect!

I'd have never suspected this to be in Chicago! Lovely shot, Tara!

It is always nice finding these little bits of nature in the big city. And for as big of a city as Chicago is, there is actually quite a lot natural mixed in. There are parks and nature preserves all over the place and the entire "front yard" of the city is green space snuggled up against one of the great lakes. Prairie and swamp grass, given the chance it frequently doesn't get, will grow like crazy here. The city is built on a swamp after all. Great shot, and I love the dreamy glow.
