Description
A view from Larrabee State Park south of Bellingham, Washington...just off Chuckanut Drive:)
Oysters have been farmed since Roman times, and in many areas, things are done much the same as they were back then, because they still work. However, there has been quite a leap in farming methods which has allowed oysters to be farmed in many areas much more efficiently or in areas where it would not have been possible before.
The boat in my photo is busy tending oyster beds just off shore in Wildcat Cove.

Nice photo, Bill. It looks SO peaceful. The bird adds a little counterpart to the oyster boat. There are so many hues of blue in this photo, and then the green to the right adds some difference. I like the names in Washington state - must be old Indian names. Oysters, reminds me of New England Clam Chowder, something I enjoyed, but can't get here. Makes me a bit home-sick. Keep up the good work! :-)

OH! what a fabulous view and photo, Bill!! Wonderful colors on the sea. When my father digged out a biiig hole for the septic tank 40 years ago, We found alot of these oyster shells on the bottom of it. Like someone has lived there and had the kitchen waste Lying there.
