Description

[best viewed full sized] Hello All! Well, it has (yet again) been quite a while since I've had time to be able to be here at R'osity due to being very busy with work. This shot was taken at the Bronte Waterfalls, on the bleak moorland above the village of Haworth, which is famous for its strong Bronte family connections, in West Yorkshire. We had taken the longer, and more difficult, route from the village on a 4 mile mud-caked hike across the moorland to get to Top Withens, which are the derelict ruins of a farmhouse on top of the highest point of the moor that Emily Bronte based her well known book Wuthering Heights on. After visiting the ruins we then took the easier way back down off the moor passing the small sequence of stepped falls just above the Bronte Bridge that Emily would have used on her visits to Top Withens. I have used 3 differently blended exposures of the same RAW file in this image as well as a touch of dodge and burn and a slight saturation boost - however, the colours have not actually been altered and really do look like this due to the high mineral content of the water running off the moorland. I am currently working on a shot of Top Withens and hope to be able to share this with you all soon. Thanks for looking and any comments and critique are, as always, more than welcome and valued! Carl

Lovely to see another beautiful posting from you again. I love how soft the water looks in this great shot and the colour of the water really shows up well. Lovely clarity and colour.
