Description

This photo was taken at the Miami Zoo, in March 2008. This area was designed with fountains and shaded areas to escape the south Florida sun. There is no fencing or cages and is just an open area. This Pelican family moved into that area, built a nest and had a single chick. Taken with my old Minolta. Zoom for a closer look at the chick. Thanks for stopping by, taking a look and for all your previous favs and comments. They are very much appreciated. Dana

superb, beautiful birds in a beautifully tangled and busy setting. An unconventional shot that works so well.

What a great shot! I love the baby looking at the other pelican in disbelief almost as if he doesn't know him or trust him. I love pelicans and this is such a great look at their family life.
