Description

Saturday, September 15, 2012 Thanks for the comments on my previous construction photos. Here we see the underside of each floor (or shall we say the roof of each floor?). Debbielove commented on the speed of construction at this point in time. The concrete parts come pre-fabricated. While they are made of reinforced concrete, they are also hollow to a certain degree. If you look at the undersides to the right, you will notice darker "streaks" in the roof - here the beams comprising it are hollow and filled with insulating foam. This makes for a lighter and yet stronger beam. There seems to be very little metal in this construction. Enjoy!

reminds me the time when i started to work as a plumber (as apprentice) in 1969 i was 14. the first thing you had to look for was a place where to keep your tools ,a barrack so to speak with of course a lock,a place to heat up the lunch, mostly a cut barrel with water in and we had these metal recipients with the food the french call it a "gamelle". and of course a place to crap,in the beginning of the construction there was no toilets installed that came at a later stage. and anyway in these times the protection of the workers was not as regulated as today. we had no plastic in the windows to protect from the wind and cold new raw buldings always started in wintertime we worked 9 hours a day if you behaved assholish you got an asskick from the team leader (that was allowed in these times and it helped i can tell) nobody cared for political correct crap language, we called each other all the names under the sun and we achieved our duties and we where good at it. not like the puzzees from today. you call someone an asshole he sues ya. what has become of this world. ps i thank the lord every day, that i dont have to go to work anymore especially in todays times,i would get fired instantly i would not fit into any profile, me a rebel for sure lol.

Yes, while somewhat bigger! Obviously, I moved on a new housing estate, some of the houses had not gone up yet.. I was amazed when then arrived flat packed and the basic shell was assembled in a day! Then a brick shell was made around it, that was it! A House was up! Its a bigger scale but the same here.. Come ready made and is slotted into place.. Good shot mate! Rob
